LAMPIX8 device is designed to work with FAM, SYBR Green or EvaGreen fluorescent dyes. The single-channel nature of the device allowed us to create it as inexpensive, compact and affordable as possible for users who need to perform PCR testing. LAMPIX8 does not have a registration as a medical device yet, however, it can be used for scientific purposes or veterinary medicine, agricultural engineering, etc. The registration will be obtained in the near future.

We do already have a SARS-CoV-2 test for COVID-19 diagnostics, which now goes through the registration process. The device also works with any test kits for isothermal amplification affordable on market, which are using SYBR Green, EvaGreen or FAM dyes. We have also developed the LAMP LYME KIT for detection of the B. burgdorferi in ixodid ticks.

The method of LAMP – isothermal PCR for diagnostics is already actively used with sensitivity and specificity not inferior to conventional PCR analysis, which is confirmed by scientific publications [1, 2, 3].

To perform automated extraction of genetic material using LAMPIX8, we are planning to add some modification to its stucture. Now, the DNA extraction could be performed using additional equipment or manually.
